Misinformation Spread
By Seyedali Mirmohammadiberenjestanaki
Uneducated influencers can have various negative impacts on society
Influencers often use platforms like Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok to share content. The viral nature of these platforms can rapidly amplify misinformation.
Actually Social media algorithms tend to promote content that generates high engagement. Sensational or controversial misinformation often attracts more attention, leading to further spread.
I asked Chat GPT to show me types of misinformation it shows me some important subjects that I'd like to share with you .
Me: dude please show me misinformation types that occur by uneducated influencer
Chat GPT: Are you sure you do not want to copy-paste it for a university prject?
Me: how do you know it?
Chat GPT: Not that hard to understand. Have you forgotten I am smart?
Me: Anyway I can write like dialogue so that my teacher does not object to using chat gpt for my project.
Chat GPT: You’re smarter 😂
My own summary of Chat GPT’s answer on types of misinformation:
-
Health and Wellness: Misinformation about medical treatments and vaccines can lead to harmful behaviors and increased virus transmission.
-
Political and Social Issues: Spreading conspiracy theories or incorrect information can increase polarization and distrust in institutions.
-
Science and Technology: False information on scientific topics can hinder public understanding and policy development.
-
Consumer Products: Promoting ineffective or dangerous products can pose risks to consumers' health and safety.
In my opinion the consequences of this issue can include events such as:
-
health risks
-
wrong political views
-
promotion of corruption and deviant morals
-
a group of idiots with even more idiotic ideas and theories such as the [flat earth theory]
-
and even raising children with wrong methods and ultimately creating a society with cultural, moral and other problems.
-
It will promote illiteracy and even virtual theft through the sale of contentless packages
To prevent this from happening
We can increase our knowledge by researching and asking knowledgeable people such as doctors, engineers, teachers, researchers, etc. For example, if we have a child, it is better to use common books for education and not pay any attention to the nonsense of worthless influencers. Let's act a little smarter and not believe anything easily on social platforms.
